What happened to g20.net

appologies for posting about another forum but I was wondering if anyone had heard from G-Forces about when g20.net was going to be backup and running.... if infact it is at all?

and ideas.

I was wondering the same thing, from what I heard he is having problems with the server. It was supposed to be up on Tuesday, maybe they'll figure it out soon. I'm with you, I hope it comes back.

After all that hype and hoopla about g20.net......POOF!!!......here today, gone tommorrow.:( Didn't even last a month. Hope they come back soon.

it's been gone since Sunday if I rember correctly..

NOW the site comes up NOT FOUND... go figure... I thought they left because AF wasnt' reliable.. LOL now look?!?:frog:

igor got mad at them and turned their internet off, ?can he do that?

What kills me the most is how many people disappeared altogether during the fight and never showed back up on either forum.

Hey calm down!!!!!! :D I have good news to deliver.. I talked to Brain.. and he told me...

"G20.net will be back on Friday. Sometime in the late afternoon to evening. We're moving to a new server. The old host had a major outage and lost all of our data and backups!! Luckily the forum data was backed up and I have the database on my machine."

So G20.net didnt go away for ever!! Thank god!! hehe Lol But they will be back, but hopefully they will have the new site up too!! :D

Yea thats tru a lot of people made the switch over and then theres some that dont even come on anymore... I personally like the G20.net forum better because it is so much faster and reliable (when it was up :bloated: )

A lot of people disapeared, but more reapeared. Long before the whole new g20.net thing, many people stopped comming to AF becasue of the ignorant newbies that would ask the same questions. They reapeared on g20.net because it wasn't the same old questions, there was a lot of new stuff to talk about.

True, but all the newbies still asked the same old questions time and time again...or stupid $h*t like whats...so and so's phone number...I just wish people would be a little more resourceful thats all...

..ya gotta give people some slack .... we were all newbies once!!! heck, I've been on the 'net since it was text based only (scary concept).... and I still remember back when newsgroups were the only way to communicate with each other.... and even then folks were sort of mean to newbies.... I remember when AOL first came into play and anyone with an aol.com in their address was severly bashed because the 'old farts' felt that AOL users were just wannabees...

Thats my point exactly. I was a newbie once. But I did do my research, looked at TONS of previous posts, and read many an article before I made my first post. That alone answered a lot of questions and gave me more information about the car than I ever could have gotten by posting.

The information is out there...you just need to look hard enough...

Newbies aren't so bad. I was one not so long ago, and I know I asked some stupid questions. (Thank God for being a girl or I might have been kicked out way before now!!! ;) )

Whenever the other site comes back up, good luck to it. I have no issues with how "slow" everyone says AF is because I'm still on *gasp* dial-up at home, so slow is as slow does. G20 power to all, and I'll be petting the Infiniti's tomorrow when I stop by the dealership on my way out of town for the day! :D

Heh speaking of petting new infinitis...i test drove a G35 yesterday and damn its fast...the revs move fast from 1k to 4k and then from 4k up to redline...LOOK OUT damn its just zoomes. This mechanic i talked to that does the initial drives said he beat a Z3 off the line. :D

This is a problem and one that does put people off.
You have to remember that alot of people that find this place for the first time are so happy to find something out about there Primeras/G20 they just post there question without checking the site out fully and dont see the search button.
Remember we were all newbie's here once so its something that wont go away over night.
But if you are a newbie...PLEASE try a search to find what you are looking for.
I'm sick of hearing about eyelids, clearing markers/taillights, will 18's fit etc etc....its half the reason i dont bother coming here to reply to the posts.
The other is the stupid thread titles.........Make it clear as to what you want to say or ask.
