I got the business! ...sort of. ish.

Alright, so I'm kind of unofficially-ish a business owner again!!!
But nothing's set in stone.
Here was my day yesterday: I was supposed to get this place appraised so I could use it as collateral on a loan to fix the whole place up. The owner never shows up and the landlord comes over pretty pissed and starts talking to me while I'm waiting. This guy doesn't mess around and the guy i was buying it from, Jason, didn't pay his rent for three months. He tells me he's going to change the locks tomorrow morning (today) and everything inside will get auctioned off. Then Jason and my best friend and business partner, Josh, find me after I get off work and we kinda drink a bit and talk some. Jason was in jail for assault all weekend because of a fight with his girlfriend and her brother in which he didn't even hit anyone. Whatever. So Jason and her, who'd been going out for years and were engaged kinda broke up-ish. And Jason was on parole and wasn't supposed to be near her after that fight a few days ago. So we go back to his house and start drinking and talking shop. I was going to buy the place for next to NOTHING that night because everything was closing in on him. Well then his girl calls and he ends up hanging up on her and then she comes over. They start fighting again and stuff and the neighbor down the street thought she said help. So she calls the sheriffs. We're sitting inside and someone says the cops are there. There were two underage guys so we just set the beer in the kitchen, no big deal, and Josh took off out the back because he thought he had a warrant. I'd mised my court date for barking like a chicken at a cop THAT DAY and it takes 24 hours to get a warrant out. I finally had a good stroke of luck. Then they find Josh hiding in the bushes after we told them it was just us. I crack up cuz josh is going "Shit, dont shoot me!" with his hands up. oops. Turns out the bitch didn't have a warrant after all. So then Jason gets arrested for probation violation because he had a warrant that his bail bondsmen missed that very morning cuz she only checked county not state warrants. And he was getting ready to serve 10 days for driving with a suspended license. So now he could be down for a year+. Still don't know.
Then we had to get his stuff out of the shop by that morning or it would get locked up! And if the landlord, who owns a shop across the street, saw it when he came in at 6:00 AM, we'd be in some amount of trouble. And since nobody there were really legal employees, if the cops came we'd get arrested for burgalary since they wouldn't be able to get ahold of jason to tell them it was ok. So I called my friends with trucks and we pile the ENTIRE shop into a few trips and take some to my garage and some to Jason's. Took something like three hours. All the tools, and we had to get the cars out because the landlord would sell those too because they were in his possession... everything. Paperwork, stock, showroom stuff, all of it. Right now most of you guys would be like a kid in a candy shop if you walked into my garage. Carbon Fiber hoods everywhere, JE pistons, cam shafts, 1 set 18" wheels, House of Kolors paint, air tools, sub boxes, etc. Jasons place has probably no less than ten body kits and a compressor, plasma cutter, etc.
But now that Jason's in jail, the landlord closed on his lease on the business. So my biz. partner's up there right now trying to give landlord a check for our first month's rent, which was my entire car savings, and signing the place to us. Once he gets the check, since we're doing it on a month-by-month basis for a few months, we can move right back in and open up shop again. And this time with me in charge. So nothings finalized, but it's REALLY hot real-estate, so we can't waste any time getting it back into our hands and running again. Plus Jason's girl has to keep the duplex that they're in, so she's gotta work and she knows all about the shop. It's all really tense and i'm about the only one that has any hint of an idea of what to do right now and I still don't know shit about what's happening with Jason. It was all too quick for me and I don't have the 15 grand still to renovate it like I wanted. AAH! So I'm at my office now just waiting for the phone call to see if we got it or not. I don't know what's happening! And if we DO get it, We'll be living there for the next month because we're out of our duplex in less than two weeks. And if we can't pull in some money getting it back up fast, then theoretically we'll be sharing the place with his girl and her daughter. This is the longest 3 huors of my damned life...
Oh yeah and I cut the HELL out of my hand on a carbon fiber hood when I fell off a ladder last night. I can't even pick up a pen and if I stretch my pinkie to type it tears my wound open again. *sigh* breathe, Matt, breathe.
