Ok, so here are some pics of the engine as we got it, and then we start to tear it down for the rebuild. The last few pics were taken today, we put the manifold, turbo, elbow, and downpipe up, just to see how she looked. I can't wait!

The amish beard! LOL It is actually a goatee with some heavy chops, but you can't see the break in those pics. That is funny though!
My buddy loves his PBR. His other shirt, like the one he has on, has a PBR patch instead of his name!

I have a Canon 20D, and I used a 50mm f/1.4 USM lens. I also used a 10-22mm lens for the shot of me, and the one under the engine. I do photography, so I have all the camera stuff. You can see some of the shots I have taken on www.RiotGearOnline.com in the photos section. Thanks for the coment! I should post some of the autocross pics that I have taken...

nice looks good i like the pic a whole lot that says "what the future holds" thats a nice shot, creative. about the FMIC i just ordered my Greddy VSPEC FMIC. from asking around that seems to be the most common FMIC used for the SR its less expensive then most. but still good from what i hear

looks like your missing a huge chunk of your leg on the one with you standing by the engine. Needed to brush up the edges around that downpipe. Unless thats some huge cargo pants optical illusion, but it almost looks like your deformed???? lol im not doubting, just stating lol.

after my final evaluation LOLOLOL i can tell the pics were taken on different days!!!! Notice the 2 snowboards in the one pic, then further down theres only one on the wall. I was just giving a hard time anyways, but that leg shot does seem like you were in the movie "jaws" or something.

And i just took the longest post that no one will read award from sleeper!!!! I would like to thank everyone who read this, god, my mom and dad, thank you thank you.....ha ha haha sorry fellas.

Looks great.

My 89 is red like yours and I cut out the non functional front "scoopes" to make them fuctional for my 240/350 V8, its really helps improve air flow into the engine bay...Good idea for the 89 & 90 cars...

Actually, it's true, you have a piece of your leg missing.....

well the different days theory is probably true but that doesnt prove its a photoshop job. iwhat makes me question it is how it looks like with that missing leg chunk. although it looks like its slightly possible that your pants fell at a weird angle and you have something big that cargo pocket or something. but shit it looks hella fake i call bs until you get another pic of you with the engine.

Yeah, I notice that now, it is my pocket though. My foot is in there, I didn't fake it, I swear!! LOL! That is funny though, I don't even have to try to photoshop anything, and you think it is!! HAHA!

And yes, these were taken over about 3 weeks, and things moved and it didn't rain, that was over spray from cleaning the engine. If you are getting an engine from Japan, do what we are doing, and take it all apart, and clean it, and then put it back together again!! There was all kinds of messed up stuff, and this is a '97!! Water in the intake plenum, nasty oil. The old manifold was cracked, and one of the gaskets on the turbo had a huge piece missing!! CHECK EVERYTHING!!!

I photoshoped the skyline one. My leg is there in the one with the engine, its just hard to tell.

look at his downpipe. sorry if im offtopic, but all sr downpipes are either 2.25", 2.5" or 2.75" inlets. just found out mine was a 2.25" :(

modded it, full 3" now. had to cut off the flange, open it up and weld in a 3" piece. you have to use allen wrench screws in order to make it fit.

No, mine is 3". The ELBOW may be what you are looking at, it looks like it is thinner by the turbo, but its wider up there. If you look at the Greddy one, it looks the same. Everything on my exaust is 3" though, except the headers. We just painted the turbo and the engine today, all with ceramic paint!!! I'll post some pics here in a bit!

Ok, so now we have the turbo painted, and the as if the engine was not clean enough, we painted it too!!! This paint is a special HIGH HEAT paint, and it has ceramic in it, so it helps keep the engine cool!! The black paint on the turbo is SUPER HIGH heat paint, and can take up to 2,000F, and also has ceramic in it. Here are the new pics!!

This is why you should check your engine BEFORE you install it!! This was the gasket between the turbo and the manifold. Not good.

And here is a close up of the MAFS, does anyone know how much HP the stock 180SX MAFS can handle? I would like to know!! I may have to run the 300Z MAFS if this one can't handle the power.

MAF can resolute about 270rwhp before it gets kinda funny. Same story on the injectors (~100% duty at 270rwhp).

Well yeah, the injectors tend to fail and not last long at really high duties.
