well for the last month or so iv been running strait headers bc i cant afford to put a new exhaust system on, and my dad has yet to make an appt. with the muffler shop. well now my neighbor lady is bitchin and has called the cops thank god i wasnt here tho. soo my mom says she will pay for a y pipe to connect to my dual outlet exhaust which is about a year old now. now wut im asking is if i connect a y pipe from 2 inch collectors to the 3 inch pipe that is already there will it really hurt the performance compared to another pipe with dual outlet muffler like me and my dad had planned on doing, or not? and iv also got to ask if i get a y pipe should i run it in front of the tranny like a stock one or run the pipe along side the tranny and the pipe run around the back of the tranny and then connect to the other pipe? sorry this is confusing but i need as much help as i can get and fast before i loose my license. thanks

Fuck the bitch, if it's not illegal there shouldn't be any harm. Otherwise I really dont think that exhaust pipe is that expensive.

The two to three inch pipes shouldn't hurt. It will give you less exhaust pressure, but you should be ok since you have been running open hearders for a while now (right?). You will still have more pressure than before. As far as where to have the pipe cross, either position will be ok. Under the tranny is stock of'course, and I've seen the other position quite a bit.

ya i went and got some estimates, for the places who do it without a new converter itll be about 75 to 100 bucks, and thats a 2 inch pipe out of the collector down each side of the tranny and then around the back and into a 3inch pipe thats already there. and the other damn shops are charging almost 400 bucks for a stock converter when iv found high flow converters on jegs for half that, which im stayin without a converter anyways.
