Congrats to Phil on his TWO first place wins for his Murcielago and Croc Audi R8 at the Melbourne Model Expo over the weekend!! Seeing these cars up close really shows what pro Phil is - they were flawless!! Good stuff, Phil!!

Wow, that's great Phil! Congratulations, both the Murcielago and the Audi has seemed great on screen, I can imagine they were eye candy in real life.

Thanks Chaos and everybody! We really should have organised some sort of get together - maybe next year.

I was awesomely lucky in the event, walked away with a total of five trophies! :eek: Not only did the Audi and Murcielago win the "Curbside" and "Non-Competition – Modified" categories respectively, but the GT40 won the "Competition" category as well! However that is only the beginning, as the Lamborghini also won "Best Paint" and, astonishingly, "Best of Show".

Just got back from Melbourne a couple of hours ago, took some pictures of some of the cars, really should have taken more. Will upload them later for anybody interested.

Kind of. It is by Richard Alexander, I think he won Tamiya-Con New Zealand with it a few years ago. I think Richard also built the Team Martini 1971 Le Mans winning Porsche 917K.

Finally, please excuse me showing these off. :) Here is the haul of trophies won and the perpetual tropy that will have my name and Lamborghini Murcielago engraved on it. Only the second time a car model has won overall since the competition began in 1982! :D

Bloody h*ll!! Why don't we have that kind of trophies up here...? My category win from IPMS Open in Stockholm last year looks like something from a Happy Meal compared to those jewels. Looks like you've won the olympics. Congratulations again.
