I'm picking up my new aveo tomorrow, my first new car. What should I look for when inspecting the car and driving it home? Any new car owner inspections I should perform? Things to ask dealer for or about? thanks all

I would (did when i picked mine up) focus mostly on cosmetic defects. May be hard later on to prove the cosmetic defect was there upon delivery vs. occurring after you drove it home. BTW, this is my first new vehicle (out of 3) that was delivered without a problem.
Good luck.
Good luck.

I agree, Look it over very carefully for cosmetic defects. It's your word against theirs when you drive away. If it's in bad light, move it. Most other things should be under warranty. No problems with mine. We love it.

i got my HB 2004 in aug2004, and it only had 10 miles on it. i made sure i fit into the car first: i test drove the sedan and fit perfect. i was the tallest buyer that day, and so they sold 3 more that hour.
anyways, i checked the radio, and paperwork. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THE RADIO CODE! after i bought it, they did not give me one, and my radio wasnt even activated on purchase! make sure you get the number, or you don't take it home.

I purchased an '04 SVM (bare bones) in December '04. I paid $8,500. The only option I miss is cruise. But I decided I'll get it aftermarket for about $200 instead of getting it as part of a trim level or package for at least $1,000 more.
