Tranny over fill ?? PLEASE HELP !!!

I just change my bro , 97 rs auto tranny fluid , I follow the hayness , it say i need 9.1qt . So I bought 10 qt from mitsubishi dealer . After I add the fluid about 8 quart. I saw my under the battery ( i dont know what that call ) it leak the fluid out , WTF I start the car , let it idle 1 min , then move all the level P-L ' L-P , Then i check the fluid , it way over the hot mark , I take a ride, after back I check the level again , and it still over fill . But the hayness say i need 9.1 qt , and I just add only 8qt , Can any one help me please , Im deep shit now . thanks
