Loud Engine Chatter.

I Have A 2002 Grand Prix, Gt. Latley I Have Been Hearing A Really Loud Chatter When The Car Gets Up To High Rmps. I Step On The Gas, And When Im To The Floor, It Will Sound Terrible. Then It Stops Like 1 Second Before It Shifts. Its Like A Chattery Whine. Can Someone Please Help Me? What Is It?
