rear end?

there is a noise, when i drive , i think its the rear end.... any thoughts or comments,...

there were some 2003-4 that had bad clutch in the posi-trac rear alxes, if you have that. also, have been some rear alxe bearing problems. you might ask dealer about service bulletin if this is newer model.

Is there anyway you can describe the noise? Is it a noise on turns, speeding up, slowing down, steady cruise.

I assume you are refering to a whining noise? Not a rumble, grinding or other type of noise?

A whine would be typical for a rear end. Transfer cases can also whine. Have your fluids checked.

If you have any small shops in your area that specialize in differentials or four-wheel-drive shops they will usually look at it for free and give you their opinion. They are quite a bit cheaper than Ford dealers.

Look under axles in the yellow pages.
