Random Door chime type sound

I tried to find this problem in the forum but didn't see any related posts so forgive if this is answered elseware.

Recently my 1997 Bonneville stalled on the highway and I had to have the ignition modulator replaced. Car seems to run fine now but I don't trust it any more.

Here is the problem,

The same chimes that sound when you forget your seatbelt, or leave the door open, even when you press the brake to put it in gear seem to go off at random while driving. Happens every couple of days. There are no warning lights showing on the instrument panel.

Does anyone have a list of all the things that make the chimes sound. I am paranoid that the car is going to just quit on me again. I'm hoping to find that it is something non important making the bells go off.

Thanks for any help.

What trim level do you have?

I have the factory service manual for a 97 but have not run across a list of events that will set off the chime. Haven't really looked for one... that might be the problem. I'll see if I can find one for ya

I do not know what you are asking for "trim level".

97 Boneville SE

I have read some other posts that say three chimes is for door adjar possibly. I don't recall how many tiems it chimes. I am going to listen for it today.

Thanks for checking your manual. All I have is the owners manual and it doesn't specify anything specific about the chimes.
