1985 ranger wont shift

i have an 85 ranger and it doesnt seem to want to get out of gear. sometimes it gets stuck in 2nd and i cant down shift or go to third. it can get stuck in any gear even reverse. the clutch is good becuase i can get going in first just fine, if i can get it to first. it feels like something is locking it into gear and not disengaging and letting me shift. its not good when im driving 55 in fourth gear and i cant down shift. suggestions anyone?

i have 85 ford ranger did same thing,there is a fluid container on driver side near firewall &fender,fluid for clutch,mine was low,filled didnt have any more problems

The flex line to the slave cylinder maybe internally blocked. Have you tried pumping the pedal a few times before shifting? Does it make a difference? Look to see if the clutch fork is moving. Worn bushings and pivot points on the fork can prevent the fork from moving enough. If you are losing fluid, look for leaks.
