okay here's my advice for maximizing the value of your Chevelle:
1. Paint it the factory original colour.
2. If you just don't like #1, paint it another colour that was offered from the factory for that year.
As for black......it shows off EVERY tiny flaw and defect in the body work. So unless all the panels are flawless and straight and you can afford a flawless paint job, forget black.....unless you WANT to show off your flawless body work!
Black also shows every bit of dirt and is miserable to keep clean.
Candy apple red is better but looks a little cheap, to me. I usually see that colour on cars that are going to be resold. However, if you have some nice wheels and good stainless and chrome, red would look pretty good.

Yeah, find a nice factory color. And also get a nice striping kit appropriate for the year. Is it a SS? That will help.
I had three different Chevelles back in the day. 67 SS 396 325hp was first, then 69 SS 396 375hp, then finally 64 SS with 327. I always loved my Chevelles. We would street race those cars every night.

Candy apple red looks really cool with lots of chrome go to a custom painter and get some ideas from them.

We painted our '63 Chevy II aqua (a light blue-green metallic). This is a very '60's color that looks perfect with Torq-Thrust wheels, if you are going old school. It's a bit different and everybody seems to dig it.

I think u should paint it Candy apple red then two black racing stripes and at the end of the stripes towards the back the stripes should turn to flames!!:grinyes: That would be so hott!!
