Hi all. just recently installed a pair of slp resonators on my 90 lx. I had a mac c/b and cut the mufflers out and had the slp's welded in. The only way to get them to fit was to modify the mac h pipe by cutting the pipe just after the cats, eliminating the crossover(which was leaking anyway)and welding throw pieces on each end of the resonators to connect to the cats and the tailpipes. The car seems to run the same. with a little more top end im guessin thats from the straight through chamber on the slp .My question is how important is that cross member. Will i hurt anything running straight through like that on each side? Also the resonators are positioned only mabye 1 foot from the cats. Is that too close. I have an off road x pipe that i want to install, but with the mods i just did that would have to be modded to fit also. should i have the resonators moved back?. I have clearance issues. I want to run a good exhaust but definatley want to keep thoes resonatros. Any thoughts?

Can't you just get an SLP Loudmouth catback? should be about the same thing. Or a good shop should be able to make some hangars to fit it all up.

Thats what i was originally gonna do. But everyone was tellin me that it was easier to just weld em in. Im gonna wait until i have enough dough and mabye use the orx i got and buy a whole new c/b system. Ill have to ask the guy if he could make it fit. I see you have a 94, people r tellin me that the only difference in exhaust between your car and mine is hanger type and location? this muffler guy told me that the slp's wouldnt fit where my mufflers were, but on the slp c/b the resonators are located differently. Like i said ill ask the guy and take it from there. The car seems to be running well enough for now

The hangar on the back of the muffler is different. You should be able to simply put in the loudmouth setup and do what flowmaster does, and have an "L" shaped hangar welded to a muffler clamp to hang it by the axle...

Thanks cobra. Thats what im gonna do. So the pipes and bends in that c/b system will fit my car? I also have the o/r/x from upr. its supposed to fit with my shorty headers. What i want to do is install that and the slp c/b. Do you think everything will fit?

Everything should be pretty close. There may have been some length changes in the catback, but not after the axle, it's in front of it. Easy to lop off some pipe, and the hangars would be the other challenge. None of it should be an install-stopper for any competent muffler shop.
