Install a cold air intake and open up the exhaust either with a high flow cat and ubend delete and you should see a noticable increase in performance. A good set of headers like TOG or SLP will increase power without costing an arm and a leg. You may want to look at PFYC, Andys Auto Sport, ZZ Performance and a few others for some bolt on parts.

Even though its a GT, you might consider the DHP v1.0 PCM form Digital Horsepower, Inc. It will help you take full advantage of a CAI or Cat Back exhaust system by modifying the MAF, spark advance, timing, fuel injector pulse (14.7:1 ratio) tables in which the stock ECU/PCM leaves a lot to be desired when you have mods. Approximately $215.00. Plus it removes the speed limiter.
Most GT owners that I know locally that have a DHP PCM claim you'll feel the improvement in performance in seat of your pants and the 1/4 mile times do improve. Good luck!
