OEM wheels and possibly painting them

has anybody on this board ever painted their OEM wheels or known of anybody who has? the reason i ask is because i am a student and i don't have a lot of money to spend on wheels, so i thought this might be a temporary styling solution.

I painted a set of Olds 88 wheels for my wife's ex-Lumina.
