This is my completed Aoshima Top Secret R34. It's my 2nd attempt at modeling so please take it easy on me haha :)! Anyways, more about this build. The body and wheels were painted tamiya ts-21. I used mesh to create the carbon fibre pattern on the hood, trunk, rear diffuser, and spoiler. I also scratchbuilt 2 sets of seatbelts for the interior (very time consuming :banghead:).
Rants:
This was my first time working with so many decals and I had a little trouble with them. They can get a bit overwheming. CFing using mesh was hard since the parts (ie hood) had a lot of bends. The spoiler was also hard to fit on. The rear diffuser looks great though :grinyes:
Kit feedback:
I thought that this kit was very good quality and easy to assemble compared to my first model. I liked the spring suspension because it made it really easy to adjust the ride height (no more cursing!) The body had very little mold lines so I guess that saved me some work in the beginning. I think I'll be building more aoshima kits in the future.
Ok enough reading already here are the pics! Any comments are welcome, enjoy :)

DAMN It's absoloutly impressive!!!. The only it needs is the clear coat, but nothing more. Your second model?? You have skills then man!! You're going to be on the top in no time then...
BTW, did you use Tamiya's R 34 parts for any things did you?? I love it.
After that, I'll have to buy that model Right Now
SEE YOU SOON

Fantastic work, and a great second build. You did a nice job on that one. A few coats of clear would have really finished the job, but don't let that discourage you - it looks great.

Man I need to get some work done on mine!
I like your interior better than mine.
I only thing I had trouble about fitment was the rear bumper.

That stance is amazing, the way a model sits can make or break the outcome, but you really nailed it, great job and i love the finished product

Thanks for the great comments! Maybe I'll take some outdoors pics soon. I heard that tamiya clear does weird things to decals, I didn't spray clear yet because I'm afraid it might ruin my model. Any suggestions?
BTW, did you use Tamiya's R 34 parts for any things did you?? I love it.
nope!
How do you do the carbon look with the mesh?
I painted the part semi gloss black, held a piece of mesh tightly against the part, then sprayed a light coat of gunmetal over it. HERE (http://www.tamiya.com/english/howto/car1/tip1.htm) is a nice tutorial from tamiya's site.
Just out of curiosity, how did you make those takata belts man???
I used green ribbons for the strap and used THIS (http://www.scalemotorsport.com/pdf/8122.pdf) template for the buckles.

I agree. I am also very interested on how you used the mesh without getting a textured finish. Good job man keep up the great work
