Problem with a TENZO kill switch

Hi, I am new to this board and hope this is the correct group to ask...

The Story so far: I am not a car guy, but can follow instructions! I bought my daughter a used 2001 Cavalier and it had a Tenzo kill switch? that the dealer seemed to “de-activate”. It would make this annoying “tick tick tick” sound but, as a clever teenage she found a solution: turn up the radio.

The Problem: Last week the battery died (we get a lot of that in Tucson, AZ because of the heat) so I swapped it out. Now the car has power for about 30 seconds and cuts off if I try to start it. I assume it is this kill switch. I was able to pull fuses, disconnect the battery / reconnect it, etc…and got it to start once, but not again. I don’t want to break or hurt anything.

The request: I need to by pass this thing or pull it. The wires go to the ignition (black) (as far as I can see), through the fire wall (white) to a box by the battery, and a one to the fuse panel (yellow). They come together in the bundle under the dash (left side) and a small set of wires go to a little fixture glued to the dash…it looks like you take a cap (chapstick cap size) and plug it in to by pass. We did not get anything from the dealer. The under dash bypass thing has a red and green LED. That’s about all I know. The box by the battery has several wires going I know not where. The under dash switch thing and the box by the battery have TENZO on them.

Please help me....teenager no car....! ack!!

oh I treid looking for this subject, sorry if I should be looking at a FAQ, if you could just direct me...
