hey, whats up?
I just wanna take this change to tell you guyz a sad story. I could post about a couple of victories I had, but is better to learn from your mistakes.
I drive a 92 civic hatch with a 95 LS engine stock (couple of mods, AI, Catalityc converter and some headers) but last nigth I found out my car wasnt as fast as I thought. one of my friends has a mitsubishi Galant 05 LS and he ask me if i wanted to race him, I agreed just for the fun of it.
as soon as we get on the highway I take of and him too. I was in front of him for about haf a car for a long time, then I shift to 5th and he started to pass me. He always had me for about a car or two. before we decided to go home he told me not to race again because that area was full of cops. I just looked at him trying to pass me, I down shift to 3rd and I started to catch up, by 4th i had him and took about 2 or 3 cars ahead of him and we staied like that all the way till 5th.
I was very depress, my car ass kicked by a Galant. but it was not so bad cuz I know now what my limits are, and I just gonna work on my car a little bit more.
well, thats my story and I hope my car gets faster and more powerfull sooner.

You said you took him until you shifted into fifth. What tranny do you have? If it is a tall gear, or just an OD, that might be the reason you got pulled on. Why would you race to fifth, anyway?

it was a highway race, and we belive if your car is faster than mine you would not catch up. the tranny I have is the LS tranny and my gears are Long as hell. jejejeje

Huh? And it being a highway race has nothing to do with it. Racing through 5th is still stupid on the streets.
You have tall gearing, and your 5th gear is the longest. That's why you lost when you shifted to 5th, he started to pull back. You should have shut down sooner...

the sad part is that he thinks he won. I know for sure I win now. what Im thinking of is just try to get a 5th GSR gear into my tranny, that way my last shift will be shorter and the rpm faster.
Some one told me "there is not 5th gear on the 1/4 mille, if the cant catch you by the end of 4th you are the winner" and I belive that.
do you guys think the GSR 5th gear into my LS will be a good Idea?

Well, what you said may be true for the 1/4 mile, but since you got it to 5th, I think you were well past the 1/4 mile mark.
Maybe a 6th gen Civic Si tranny?

i'm sure you were way past a 1/4 mile. you got beat. it happens. you can't win every race. so just suck it up.

the experience for me was something good after all. now I just gonna try to improve my car performance and keep on going.
