My suburban has a broken passanger window. I have found a window to put in and replace the broken one. How do I get the window out of the door without breaking it so that I can move it from a door to a door. I wish to do this job myself so please dont tell me to take it to a shop and pay to have it done. If someone could give me instructions I would appreciate it. Thank you.

spend $15 and get a haynes manual it will tell you how and be indespesable later on down the road. what you are asking us to explane would take several pages, but the short end is if this is the 78 burb you list on your profile. remove doorpad, if it is a manual window you will need a special tool to remove the window crank, and a special tool to remove the doorpad. after all fastening hardware is removed pull pad away from the door on the bottom and pull pad up and away from door, now remove lower bolt holding vent window track in and remove vent window, there is anouther bolt in the top of the track to. once you have all the track out there are 2 bolts holding the window in place on the bottom of the window, remove those and the window should pull right out. unless this is not the 78, then it may be a little different procedure. next time tell us what year and model and a little more info to help us help you, if you need more info check my name and when my email will come up

Took off door panel. Removed all nuts and bolts. Wiggled bar between the moving window and this stationary window at the base of the door so movable window came out of the slot. Raised window 3/4 of the way up then wiggled window some more and out it came. I had trouble with the bar that the window slides into but finally just used some glue and glued the replacement window back into the slot. Wiggled the bar so that the window would fit back into the proper slot and back into the frame. Raised window all the way up so the glue could set up over night. Now I have a fixed winodw and did not glue it shut either. Put all nuts and bolts and screws back into place. Popped door panel back on. Thank you all but this is how I finally managed to get it done.
