ATX Transmission CPU (or w/e)

TCU, ECU, CPU....whatever it's called....where's the computer for the automatic transmission on our cars. I'd like to remove it as it's dead weight now, but I have no idea where it is.

I think its between the ECU and the firewall. Both should be behind the carpet to the right of the gas pedal.

your exactly right, if you take off your driver's side kick panel and locate the ECU, keep moving up towards the front of the car and you'll see another module that looks kind of like the ECU, and thats it

Ohhh!! I've seen that thing a few times, kept getting in my way when I was running the shifter cables, wish I knew I could've removed it! Thanks guys.
