i put a 195 or so thermostat last year and now the truck runs alittle over 210 with a/c on. didn't do that before also my volt gauge is always showing different readings as if its having a good day or not. shows 14 rarely and mostly around 12 or 13 and it really drops when a/c is on with other stuff too. also this may be a vague question but a couple of days ago my jeep started to run alittle ruff. mostly on hwy it tends to stutter or like hesitate like its cutting out on fuel. its not much of it but worried its gonna just die out on me with kids in it. it runs like there would be air bubbles in gas line. like that kind of hesitation. any help would be greatly appreciated. thanx

Hi there, not a lot of experience with the grand, mostly the XJ, but I can tell you that the cooling system in XJ's are undersized and if ANY corrosion builds up in the radiator, it'll cause it to run hot. If the Grand's cooling is anything like the XJ, a radiator flush may be in order.

I'll leave the sputtering question for someone else, I just bought my Grand about two weeks ago, I feel as though I'm riding in a computer with wheels. I'm not used to such a plush ride and so many wires...

If you are undervolting the system, you can have all kinds of issues...rough running and lack of power are certainly two of them. Running, the voltage at the battery should be 13.2 - 13.5 volts. If with the air and other accessories on, you drop below 12.5 you need to have the charging system checked. Should have a check engine light on if that happens for too long tough.
