I have a 1995 Pontiac sunfire GT with a blown 2.3L quad 4. Will a 2.4L quad 4 from a newer year bolt to the trans? I don't care about the motor mounts or anything else. I can fix the rest. Any help out there??

Dude, don't get the crap 2.4L, get the 2.3L HO. more power, and a better motor. I stomp 2.4L's with ease.
2.4L 150 hp
2.3L HO 180hp
2.3L bolts right in
2.4L needs a lot of workk to run.
any questions, I have done the swap, I can inform you.

Anthony---up to a 3.8L will fit, some needing more work than others, all needing tranny's and wireharnesses/ecu.

Turbo and a rebuild/upgrade are a good combo for a fast 2.2L. Got to J-body.org and look around for some ideas.

Someone out there suggested getting a 2.3L HO engine for my 95 sunfire. What car would that type of engine be in to find one? Thanks for the help.

Beretta, Grand Am, Achieva, and a few others. but you want one from 92-94 (IIRC), 92 being optimum, if you use the W41 (rare to find).

v-8 with work, 3.8 with less work, 3.x (60 degree) with even less work (3.4L being the largest I believe), OR, you could put in a turbo (less work yet, and less money as well in the long run) and be in the 13's or less IIRC.

Turbo is best for the 4 cyl motor, superghargers rob power to make power, and are around 50% effecient, Turbo is "free" power and about 75% to 85% effecient depending on turbo used. Also a proper sized turbo produces almost ZERO lag off the line.
