i noticed today my batttery voltage was reading 14.5 and 14.4 that was in 90 degress with air condition and head light on is that about normal or should i worry alittle bit. was thinking about throwing battery on charger to see what happens.

the car is a 98 aurora and has 115,000 miles on it. never changed anything but plugs and wires and brakes and rotors. air filter, fuel filter, normal things.

That's normal for your stock battery.

In order to charge a 12 volt battery the electrical system doing the charging has to be greater than 12 volts. 14.4 volts is the standard regulated voltage for 12 volt systems.

DC electrical systems are also prone to impedence losses through the wiring network. You may measure 14.4 volts at the alternator but you may only get 11-12 volts at the tail lights.
