Location of PCV and Fuel Filter

need to change both on my 2002 4door.....where are they? I checked the program ALLDATA and it didnt really tell me much.

I know the PCV is easy to change once you find it, but how hard is it locate/change a fuel filter?

//edit ok I think I found out that I need to relieve the fuel pressure first, but I was instructed to disconnect the fuel pump....where is that connector? cant I just pull the fuel pump fuse?

if im not mistaken the fuel filter is located at the side of the fuel tank

to relieve the fuel pressure just disconnect the fuel pump fuse

and leave the car running until engine dies

and the pcv valve is located behind the valve cover on the cylinder head

Fuel filter is under the car inside of the rear left wheel. Crawl under the car and you'll see it on the frame rail. It's in held in place with a big clamp-type thing, just wiggle it out. When I changed mine I didn't relieve the fuel pressure and there wasn't any problem and fuel didn't spray all over the place, but you may want to relieve pressure just to be safe. Be careful not to damage the fuel lines getting the filter off. There are two types of connections that I know of (my Sunfire and my wife's 97 GrandAm both use the same fuel filter; the new ones both had same type of connector, but the old ones had two different types).
PCV is located on valve cover with a rubber hose connected to it. Very easy to replace. Just look at it and you'll figure it out.

hmm alright I will try the fuel filter hopefully tomorrow....I sent my dad out to get the stuff tonight...he went to Canadian Tire for the stuff, and they told him we had to go to the dealership to get the PCV valves! What! I'm pretty sure I've seen them in CT and PartSource stores before

You do not need to replace the PCV valve on the 2200 unlike the previous 2.2 LN2 whereas you did.

... you get the idea. Oh yea and don't break the black tabs off the connector either, it only makes things a pain in the ass.

the dealer said the PCV should be replaced as past of the tuneup they wanted to do on the car...why doesnt it need to be changed? I heard u should change ur PCV valve every year

and nice pics man, that last pic, what is that wrench holding on to? the wrench doesnt haev a bolt to hang onto...? do yu just wedge it off?

1) its not removable on the 2200's. Unless you feel like buying a whole new Valve cover. That mechanic is looking for another way to pay for his crack smoking addition.

2) That wrench is between the fuel filter its self and the black "quick-release" tab. Its not holding onto anything, but its acting as a way for leverage. Use opposing end of the wrench and angel it away like your trying to release the tab. Its an internal connection so if you break the tabs your sorta screwed.

The new filter should come with a new quick release on it. I destroyed mine and bent the filter all to hell getting it off but new filter had a good one so I was OK. I used a little more finesse getting old filter off wife's car and didn't break anything then, but new filter had different type of release on it so I still didn't need old one.

well in my 2000 is not required to change pcv valve i just changed the fuel filter

and damn filter was clogged and fuel came all black

good thing i did it and also in this car u remove the quick connect in the new filter

is not needed because the lock that the ful line has is all one piece

but im saying a 2000 2.2
