Alright what I'm planning on doing is switching out the stock bulbs behind the climate control, gauges, etc. in my 95 civic ex and replacing them with color LEDs. What I need to figure out is if anyone knows of some site or anything that has a guide to the stock bulb types in the 1995 civic (so I can know which led bulb to use as replacement). For example, the climate control uses two #74 bulbs (I think) so if anyone could help me with some type of list of the bulbs in the interior, thanks.

p.s. or would I be better off replacing the stock bulbs with the same incandescent bulb but painted?

Check out www.LSDiodes.com a lot of info there. I have heard/read that the diodes are hard to get even lighting.

putting leds in the dash is a pain in the neck, but looks tight as hell. i used 5mm blue leds in me climate controls and gauges, and 3mm leds in my sunroof, cruise, and dimmer switches. what i did was use the exitsing bulb holder and just modified it to work with leds. now the might sound easy but there's a catch, you have to put a 470 ohm resistor on the led (they are only made to run of 2.5~4v). You're gonna need a lot of resistors and a lot of leds. i would suggest buying them in bulk on ebay. {besthongkong} is a good company to buy them from. good luck and i hope you like the result. hope i was of some help.
