383 Lt1 Stroker

Well i've got some cash saved up and was planning on stroking/boring the lt1 into a 383, well ive found a place that will do it for $3,500 with forged internals. i'm also planning of using a 100 shot of nitrous. i wonder what i would run with that combo in the 1/4 mile

You should probably knock off 2secs from that, i guess thats what 89 meant :evillol: . I never been to the track so i just making a guess, did you get that LT4 cam you were talking about? Also what else have you done internally, or are going to do internally?

well i dunno bout 11's, because with the 383 you may run into traction problems. which will lower your reaction times. but once you get those worked out, i would say low 12s and maybe high 11's depending on your setup may be possible.

well i've already got a complete hotchkis suspension. i was thinking of going with a dual stage nitrous system, maybe a 50 shot and the launch and another 75 once i hook up really good

i bought a 9bolt rear end from a 89 iroc, and i got it for 100 bucks. it was my freinds, and i took his front brakes as well there the dual piston. so i'm getting swapped next weekend when i don't have to work.

Thats gonna be a kick in the seat when ya get that 383 in there. Make sure your piston rings seat all the way before really getting on it. I saw a guy with a 383 in his chevelle at a car show and he was having problems with his.

I was talking to my buddy that has a 02SS and he's trying to convince me into converting my engine into a lt4 then stroking into a 383 now i think that would be a killer combo, a 383 lt4 in a 89 maro.

How about we just put a jet turbine engine in there with 18,000 ft/lbs of thrust?

383 LT1 car's run about what cam'd LS1 cars run.
Mid 12's at around 113 MPH.

Add nitrous, hello 11's, even with just average traction.

actually jet powered diggers run 3 second quarter mile times. last time i checked the record was a 3.33 second quarter mile.

Damn i did a little research on the 383 lt4 and damn with that combo i'll be pushing out about 525rwhp, now that would be a killer camaro and add about another 150 shot of nitrous and i think well have one of the fastest third gens out there
