yz-125 help needed

I have a yz-125 2003. I've been riding it for about 1 year and really want to get into racing. After riding my friends 03' yz-250f, I feel like my bike needs some intake mods or engine mods. I would really like to improve my bikes throttle response. If anyone has any information on what things/adjustments i can do to improve throttle response, it would be appreciated. If their is anything out their to improve my bottom end, please tell me.

Everything on my bike is stock except for fmf pipe and silencer and renthal handle bars.

Either the VForce3 or Boyesen reed valve will give you better response throughout the rpm range. A 50 tooth rear sprocket will improve low response and keep the bike on the pipe. Make sure your jetting is good.

Any particular reason why you went with FMF on the exhaust? The Yamaha YZ 125 or 250 works better with a Pro Circuit pipe. FMF does not have a proven track record with 2 strokes. Even Chad Reed and all the other Pros use Pro Circuit.

The problem with 125cc 2 strokes no matter what make it is very hard to compete against 4 strokes like the YZF-250 or Honda CRF-250 that are modded. The 250cc 4 strokes dominate the 125cc classes.
