94 camaro windows

Hey everyone... i just bought a 94 camaro yesterday. Great deal on it with only 58k miles. $4,700 (tax and reg included) Needs a lil bit of work (normal maintenance stuff), but its in awesome condition.

Anyways... the windows have some problems. The drivers side window is very loose. For example, if i open the door with the window up, i can wiggle the window very easily. When i close the door, the whole door shakes (the window and the interior panel). I have never taken one of these apart so i'm asking for any suggestions/cautions before i try to fix this. What could be the problem/what do i need to do?

For the other window (passenger), there are scratches on it due to something inside the door scratching it. If i pull the seal back a little bit, I can see one of the pads on the window (inside the door) is worn down and has rust on it. I'm guessing that that is the problem because the scratches line up with the pad. Is this something thats replaceable? Again, i've never done anything with windows on a newer car, so i don't know much.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!!

EDIT: The camaro is a 3.4l v6 (yeah yeah... i wish it was v8, but insurance would nail me). Anyway, another quickie. The car i drove before the camaro was a 95 4.3l v6 jimmy. Now, after driving that and going to the camaro, i'm coming to think that the jimmy would kick the camaro's butt... big time. Is this maybe a problem with my camaro? It does seem to lag a little bit during take off (if i floor it) it will seem like it wants more, but i can't give it anymore, but then it will fly. Is that normal? My jimmy would probably destroy my camaro... which makes me sad. lol

The Jimmy has more horsepower, but it's made to do stuff like towing, hauling wood, that kind of crap so it will probably fall on its face in top end.

My 92 4.0L Jeep Cherokee takes off like a demon, but it falls really short up in high speeds.

well first off welcome to the forum.

In responce to the problem with the windows, its really not all that hard. youll want to remove the screws holding the armrest and speaker cover to the door skin, and then remove them. then use a pannel remover or large screwdriver in a pinch, to pop off the door panel. those pads are replaceable, but i think youll have to drill out the rivits holding them on, and then re-rivit the new one in place. But im not entirely sure.

alright. Doesn't sound bad... got any idea how much those pads are gonna be? I'm flat broke from buying this car and now i'm finding a bunch of little things that need fixed.

worst case you could hit up the local junkyard, and get the parts you need out of those doors.
