Where does the Achieva fit in the GM families of cars?

I'm looking at buying a 95 Achieva. What class of cars does it come from in the GM line-up? Is it like the Chevy Corsica or Lumina, or like the Pontiac Grand AM or the Bonneville? Thanks

Calais/Achieva/Skylark/Beretta/Grand am/Cavalier/Sunfire.. all roughly the same chassis, the models that were made 96(2.4 motor)-99ish and up vary slightly as do the ones made back the late 80s-early 90s. Lumina and Bonneville are bigger overall, I guess you could call them more of a family size car, while the others might be labeled as compact, but are not as compact as Civic, Tercel, Celica, Protege etc.

Although it doesn't sound logical, the Alero replaced the Achieva in 1998 - 99 and the Alero is classified as a GM "N" body which is the same as the Pontiac Grand Am.

And to go further back the Calais was what filled that spot during ~89-91 before the Achieva was being made. I am really hoping to see the new pontiac G6 type platform ideals carried over to the other GM company's smaller cars.

If you're thinking of buying, avoid Quad4, go with the V6.
