raced a new civic si

driving down cleveland at a normal rate, not looking for any races, because ive givin up on finding any. and i get stopped at a red light. to the right a new civic si turns onto cleveland ave. and guns it up the road, he had an exhaust. so i thought what the hell ill give it a try and i caught up to him at the next red light.

wasnt to sure if he was gonna go or not so i inched a lil at the line just to let him know i was interested. while sitting there my heart is racin like a mo fo, then the light turns green and he trys to get out of there like a bat outta hell and squeels his tires, and is like a car ahead of me.

then i finally decided to hit the gas and i just flew past him, i was going about 10 under the speed limit after i was a good 6 cars ahead of him to see if he would catch up to me. but he just got over to the far left lane ( eventual turn lane) and stayed back from me and didnt even try to get next to me. just stayed the same distance back the whole time. so that was that.

the 2006 one coming out is supposed to be faster. what sort of quarter mile time is your car doing? i know the new maximas are pretty quick but i dunno about yours

i honestly have no idea if i would have to guess id say somewhere in the low 16's or what ever, but really ive got no clue. id have to have some other max owner or someone who knows what they are talkin about to back this one up

I've never seen a civic SI, any year, run better than high 15s stock. I've seen those ugly van ones run mid/low 16s all night though. Three of them was at the track one night..all running about the same times.

the new si for next year looks sleek. Much more aggressive and has gone back to the coupe style. also rated at 200hp. So it should be fun.

well before I goto sleep I want to say it looks good. The new acura's look like hondas and the new hondas look like acuras. Either that or I need to go the F to sleep.

200hp in fwd is still not much to get exucted about especiially when its NA. your still looking at 180hp at the wheels on a good day

Well, they say there is going to be a new helical-type LSD to help put that power down for launching. So who knows how that will turn out. If I had the money, I would take one in a heartbeat. Well, I have a while to save up and possibly get me one.

According to C/D its borrowing the 2.4L 200hp I4 from the TSX/Accord, rather than the 2.0L from the RSX....which would give it more torque than a regular Civic or Civic SI...and when I get my car when I graduate ill be seriously looking at it
