oil pump problem

My oil pump went bad after only 5300 miles on my 2005 silverado 2500hd. The dealer service consultant told me it was because I used an after market oil filter and not an AC Delco oil filter. He stated the filer I used (FRAM) was "too restrictive". I think he's full of it and it was simply a bad oil pump. I wanted to know if any of you fellow Chevy Truck owners had a similar experience.

That's the funniest thing I've heard in a minute. Tell him to show you some specs where there is a difference in the flow of the oil filter.

So make him produce a document given to you at time of sale that says "No other oil filters allowed, will void warrenty." Sounds like time to call the regional rep for GM, that is a load of crap. :flipa: :flipa: :flipa: :flipa: :flipa: :flipa: :flipa: :flipa:

Chevy covered the repairs under the warrantee. For now, all is good

I hope you got that person to explain his statement. In writing baby, put it in writing. Statements like that are uncalled for especially since he can't back them up. Let me at him, give me the dealership name, I would love to Fu-- with him..... :twak: ok, now time to get a beer and cool down, dumasses
