Is it possible to install a supercgarger into my 99 Cobra with out harming the engine? And if so what brand?

Yes, Vortech, Paxton, Procharger, the list goes on and on.
Those are just the centrifugal superchargers.

:dunno:
I don't recall ever seeing one on a 5.0 From what I've read its supposed to be a pretty nice supercharger.

Twin screw types are on all the time, right? I might be wrong. If its on all the time, your gas milage is going to drop a lot.
Don't get me wrong, its a damn good blower. For power better than the Vortech.

Yes a KB, twin srew, or any roots style blower makes constant boost. They are positive displacement blowers. As far as I know anyway.

You can buy one for a 5.0 I have seen it. It looks like it bolts onto the lower intake manifold. They are more expensive typically than the centrifugals but I never hear of anyone being disappointed by them.

Well correct me if Im wrong but don't all superchargers run all the time? I can see what your saying about the positive displacement. The price on the twin screws are pretty reasonable. Right inline with the vortechs and paxtons.

Here is a link to the 5.0 twinscrew. I am looking to see if they are actually running all the time. I know the belt is always turning but I think there's more to it than that.

I just read that Eaton has, as I would immagine others would, a magnetic clutch used to disengage it for cruising efficiency.

At half throttle VORTECHs do not produce boost, for that matter almost 3/4. They really do not start to spin until you get passed that point. Yes they spin all the time, but they really are not working ubtil they have a good soild load. Positive blowers are not like that, they are working all the time, which means your milage is going to be crap all the time. My old Stang I could get 23mpg on the highway, which was pretty good for the power it had.
