Hey,

As I was in my lhs, I was wishing I had brought my camera. There's soo much cool stuff there.

Ehh....your mission, if you choose to accet it, if the store doesn't throw you out for trying to case the place...heh...is to take pics of you local hobby shop. Merchandise pics are cool too.

IBttiwwop.... :dunno:

I think my basement has a much better selection than any of the shops around here.:smokin: I might have to go the my LHS later to pick up a tank rebuild kit for my REVO, I might snap a few shots then.

I am not lying here but my LHS is Hubhobbyshop.com. there major distributor is Stevens (ive got there site bookmarked to look for TBA's in the search every week).       Thats why i CANT get any good PE sets, Studio 27 resin kits and wait 3 months longer then everybody else for new Fujimi kits.   but in all seriousness, i always get the kits im looking for through the Hub. there great guys and theyll order from other places if i insist upon having a kit. Tell Stevens that if they dont start ordering the new Aoshima kits (D1 series,Crown Athlete, etc....) Im gonna get pissed. Ask the guys at Stevens if they know Jeff and Chuck from Hub Hobby in New Orleans and then ask if in the last few months Hub has suddenly been ordering alot of Fujimi car kits;) that would be me. everybody else here builds military.sucks but hey isnt that a weird coincidence ehhh?????? :screwy:

This is my LHS, at least the one I go to most frequent Hobbybiten (http://www.hobbybiten.se) just click "Butik" and you'll see some pics from the very tiny but well sorted little shop. I could fit in Kjell's shop in my livingroom...that's how small it is. Put in ten people at the same time and you'll have a hard time to move around :lol2:
The name of the store is quite funny because it's made up of two words; Hobby- wich is the same both in english and swedish. Biten could meen-bitten or piece and both of them applies very well to the wonderful world of scale modelling...don't you think!?

Our LHS's aren't worth wasting battery life on any digipics. I buy my kits from HLJ and Hobby Lobby 1/2 off sales 99% of the time. I hit up Hobbytown for paint and glue. I buy Cobra Colors and Black Gold paints either online or at model shows.

Too bad Auto Motif went OOB; the mess inside and the selection was legendary. They had TONS of stuff, new/old. If you could find it. It was like a hobby shop/fleamarket/garage sale/dumpster all in one. Newcomers spent hours there and always enjoyed the adventure finding kits (new and old and everything in-between), diecast, parts kits, old magazines, detail items, automobilia. It was owned by an eccentric millionaire. Got some great deals when they closed.

There's a few great Hobby Shopes around me, here's Hobby Express in Cranberry PA, about 10 miles outside Pittsburgh PA

http://www.hobbyexpressinc.com/front.jpg

I have no pic of these two but on is s AB Charles & Sons, Located in Dormont in the City of Pittsburgh, They have the largest selection of Tamiya and Fujimi kits in the City

Another great hobby shop is Ethers Hobby in MillVille in Pittsburgh. this is a cool story but the building was destroyed by a flood back in September. everything floated out the front window which was smashed out and floated down to the Ohio River. He was the only store to reopen when two months of the flood. everything around either closed or are just reopening. everfything is 20% off so I get all my paint and supplies there.

I can take a picture of my LHS but you can only find 15 car kits there :( Therefore the internet is my only source :D
