Racing Seats What Next.

Ok i just recieved my racing seats and harnesses, my question is they came with universal sliders, but do i need brackets to? Where would be a good place to buy them. Also is it possible to bold the four point harness to the floor board?

If you mount the racing harness on the floor and get into an accident, tests have shown that you have a high risk of breaking your shoulder or extreme lower neck. If you suddenly lung fowards the pressure of the belt is put onto your shoulder blades putting you at risk for an injury. If you should choose to have some installed best was i have seen was a nice bar running between B-pillars or a roll cage.

If the sliders fit on the seat bolts then you wouldnt need a bracket. If the holes dont match up to the bolts, then you would need a bracket and I honestly have no idea where to buy them. You could make new brackets or drill holes in the sliders. Not sure if thats the best idea, but you could try. CRJ is right... the harness should be bolted to something around 90 degrees from the back of the seat. Any thing else puts you in a bad spot if you get in an accident.

yOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO DRILL OUT THE RIVETS on the legs of the stock seat and use them on the new seat. Just use 1/4" bolts to replace the rivets you drilled out. Measure to get the correct spacing fore and aft, then drill the sliders to accept the legs from the old seat. Hope the width is the same. You may havta use some flat iron and make some primitive brackets to compromise any difference in the width between the sliders.

When i did my seats, on the driver side, 2 of the 4 holes lined up to the original stock sliders. But before i did anything you need to knock off the spacers on one side of the rail and on the other there is a metal strip held in with (2) 10mm screws. I also reccomend a dremel tool to remove the oval spacers as i nearly destroyed my slider using a hammer. Since i am a tall guy i used the rear ones to bolt into and then all i needed to do was get a drill and drill out the front 2 holes needed. For the passenger side I needed 2 tabs one of which i really tricky to explain in order for the slider to go all the way back. I used 2 small undrilled door hinges i picked up from Home depot. If you have some common sense and a way to think thing through you should be able to figure this out. I did both of them in one evening.

But here is a write up for tenzo's that can be used for any seat really. Only problem is that they might sit way too high.

So your saying that if i get aftermarket brackets that they might sit to tall?

So CRJ did you install a four point or are you using your stock belts
