I just bought a mirror off of ebay that they seller stated was a auto dimming, compass, temp mirror from a 97 tahoe.
The picture on the listing wasn't very good so I couldn't see that the actual mirror has comp/mirror buttons.
My question is that can this mirror actually read temp with a sensor or not (model GNTX-177, 7 pin) on the digital display it does have degrees F and C available but I don't know if they are actually used. I need to know so that I know what to tell the seller. If they sent me the wrong one or they mis advertised.
Thanks

doesnt anyone buy parts at a parts store anymore? you need the wires and sensors for the temp, do they come with it? also go to a parts store and check out what is available and if they have one in stock, try dealer if he has one in stock he may let you take a look at it, to be honest i would just go to the parts store and spend the extra money and get all that you need and have a warranty.

I'm sorry but I don't think that the question was understood. I know how to wire the mirror. The question was if this type of mirror that has buttons for Comp/mirror has the available function to read temperature as well. Because the display shows degrees F and C. Or is the display used for both temp reading and non temp reading mirrors. The listing stated that it was to include a temp sensor as well as have the function for reading temp.
People don't go to parts stores often as much because they don't have $250 to shell out for a mirror.
PS. the issue was resolved, the company sent my money back and let me keep the mirror. They didn't have a replacement.
