Ok, so heres whats up. I've been lookin for a cheap HKS SSQV and stumbled across this guy on ebay selling these Monza HKS styled bovs... My question is, does anyone have any experience with one of these bovs? If so, are they any good or is it a waste of money?
Heres the link to the auction.

I dont know but if i were you i'd get a real HKS bov. These things sound awsome. Its up to you if you rather spend 1/2 of the real price for a fake wannabe one or just save up. If u do get the ebay monza hks bov then tell us about it.

I'm quite happy with my TurboXS type H34 (the RFL without the horn, so it can be recirculated or vented). You can often find them on DSMtrader.com for $100 used. Recirculated it makes a tiny squeak that has been described as "cute" :banghead:, but vented, it sounds ridiculous. I'll get some sound clips up here if I can...
Something I haven't investigated yet is its propensity to leak...turboXS bovs have a bad rep for leaking even at low pressure
And Blackcrow: your Talon looks sick. I love that red color on the 2gb

Thanks for the comment.
If they are built the same, then why would it sound different from a true HKS?

There's no guarantee they are built the same. It is highly unlikely that "Monza" or whoever manufactures these bovs uses the same quality materials HKS uses. I would not be surprised if they cut corners elsewhere, in the engineering or design properties.
I have read reviews of this bov on DSMtuners.com, and people have mostly praised it for being a budget substitute for the SSQV. I would not count on it to hold much boost, though. If you plan to run more than 15 psi, you should look into a different bov IMO.
I would much rather have a used Greddy Type S or Turbo XS H-34 bov for around $100 shipped, than a new Monza knockoff for around $100 shipped.

Ah, well I was planning on running like 16-18psi, so I guess that won't work then... My one friend had mentioned that the Monza bovs were supposedly "built better than the HKS." How true this may be, I don't know. I was hoping somebody else actually owns one and knows how much psi they can run and if they do sound similar...

Awesome... Thanks for the link man, from the sounds of it, its just as good as the HKS. Maybe not quite as loud but its all good still. I'm gonna keep a watch for the next cheap auction and grab me one up.
