DSM Talk chat room

I'm not sure if I was the only one who didn't know, but there is a DSM specific chat room that you can enter found at http://irc.dsm.org/. I think it's a Java app, so you'll have to be down with that before you're good to go. Was I the only one who didn't know about this?

Anyway, I saw joewagon on there and lasted two comments before I got booted, but could be a good reference for info on the fly when you need a quick response. They just didn't like me... :)

i didnt kno ethier but aim has one too u just right click and go to chat invatation and put your screen name in and for which chat room you put dsm chat

Yea I hosted DSM Chat with AIM back in January. It was just a random chat room for about a week then I got it hosted by AIM so now its always open. I am usually there 24/7 but not always around the computer. Check it out sometime.

I checked it out and jake was an ass to me....lol....cool room though

No one usually shows up or starts chatting until around 9-10pm. Sometimes you will catch people talking during the day but most people come in later at night.

i might check that out. do you need to be a member or have a username or anything, or can anyone just log in and chit chat??

You need AIM... www.aim.com (http://www.aim.com) to chat in DSM Chat. The other one (irc.dsm) you can just type in your name and go, you dont need to be a member.

Yeah, I just signed up for AIM. The guys on Jake's DSM Chat were hung over from fifty cent pint night. Kidding, just not many people there.

Thats cause you were there at 9:45am! I was logged in and NoSlo was there, he's quite knowledgable also but we both were probably sleepin.

Whoever wants to drop by feel free. Just highlight your name on AIM, right click and click on Send Chat Invitation, where it says "chat room" on the bottom, type in "dsmchat" and you'll be good to go.

Although just dont act like a moron, there are some cool people that stop in every once in awhile. John Shepherd has chatted with us a few times which was cool but dont start quoting F&TF or anything dumb like that!

Anyway, tonight we had a really good, useless chat. There was very little DSMage, but good times had by all. No real shit talking, a bit too much talk on lesbians :rolleyes: I saw quite a few guys: Jake (offline, sleeping... weak), clipse kid, scotsee, martin, raginasian, joosedawg (aka horn dog), 98silvergst, and a few others I forgot, apologies. And maybe more came after I left, I sleep early. Noslo was a bit... overbearing. Smart guy, though.

Again, I'm surprised by the age gap between some of the dsm'ers, but how well we all got along. Good times to be had by all, I recommend others drop by. Gets a real sense of group unity. We were always at least half of the active members, and a few people asked what AF was. Maybe we have a few converted ;)

Scotsee's comment was my favorite... watching tv is more fun.

Don't forget I was there, too! Wasn't that many people there around 7-8PM PST, but it was cool. Parts of the chat was just weird and totally not related to DSMs at all.

Man too much lesbians talk lol, but it was great. At one time I dont remeber who but someone was talking all this stuff about different turbo's and totally lost me. Most of the time I would just sit there and read what everyone was saying.

One problem I found, was that it was hard for me to identify the people from AF.

I agree with the difficulty in finding who was who. If people put it in their profile it would be easier. We made quite a scene though; the guys who are regularly at the chat room were repeatedly surprised that there were so many people present. Things got real busy at ten o'clock, Eastern. It would be fun to see some of the more serious members of the board in a lighter atmosphere. We'll see if we can get Kevin to join. Somehow I don't think so. Maybe we could have a once a month thing when people try and drop by. Ragin never opened his mouth other than to laugh, he was the creepy guy listening in on the conversation :) Silver98 is a cool guy, also short on words.

Some of the turbo talk was typical internet bs-- guys knowing a little about it and making a lot up. "I run a 10.123" ...wow, creative number. Later he said he lost his slip. There were 20 people there, and five were running FP 3075s. These guys need to lie more creatively. That said, there was some good info. I'll lookup what I can about Noslo and his similar turbo theory-- pte, bullseye, and sbr turbos are all identical, some supposedly with 270's.

If you want to use a your login name just change it alittle. Like what I did, RaginAsianDSM since RaginAsian was taken. Just be creative. And also how do you put stuff in your pofile?

I was on last night and was pretty fuckin cool to be able to chat with "the gang" from AF live.... little weird with all the lesbian shit.... not that i'm against lesbians....lol girl on girl is one of the greatest things:)

The lesbian guys weren't AF. Shocking, I know. This was my first time in a chatroom in five years. I guess I was still prepared for/expected a lesbian conversation :rolleyes: The profile is added by clicking MyAim (top-left corner of the AIM main screen), and scrolling down to Edit Profile. From there it's pretty self explanitory.

I do hope people log on for a few. It's a good crowd, and good times. Fun to be had by all :)

its not a bad little area to interact with everyone in short intervolts, unless there is a topic going on or somthing to say!. as long as it stays a DSM chat, and dosn't revert to a typical aol chat room you can expect to see me regularly.

You guys are taking it overboard. Going into other chat rooms a fucking with them isnt the idea behind this. No I did not make the chat. A few people I know from DSMtuners started it and all I did was get the room permanently hosted by AIM for tech and DSM referance, but its getting a little carried away now! Yes its fine to fuck around every once in awhile and I have done it too, but if you want to talk about fucking up the Honda chat or going and making fun of the gay chat, do it in another room or the more knowledgable members wont be around anymore. I sure as hell dont want to talk to a bunch of noobs that get off on fucking with different chat groups. People dont fuck with us so why fuck with them? Seriously lets grow up and become adults here! No wonder why Kevin or any of the others like Shep dont come around more or even at all... Its a waist of their time.

If you want to talk about DSM's and related subjects then you are more than welcome. If a subject gets off topic which happens a lot, its not a big deal, but the past 3 nights which this chat has been posted on here, it gets off topic more now then it has since it was made.

If your just going to go straight out off topic right away, invite you and your buddies into Lesbian Chat since thats what everyone seemed to enjoy talking about these last 3 nights. :rolleyes:

It doesnt put out a very good name for ourselves if people are constantly fucking with other people and acting like little 10 year olds. So what if "YOU" dont like hondas or have something against them. They obviously like their cars and are trying to do the same thing we are, make the cars faster just doing it in different ways. Some also do a little extra and add body kits and other shit but seriously its their car. Who gives a flying fuck if you think its ugly or ricey. Its for them to enjoy, not you. I have put my :2cents: in about what my opinions are and that is fair. I dont go looking for people to piss off or go into their forum and start shit like some of you have done in the past. Just stay out of their way and they will stay out of ours.

From now on just chill out in chat and everything will be fine. Many of you know exactly who I am talking to. I dont care if it was you or not, the other members (that were there before everyone from AF started joining) arent the problem. I just dont want everyone to say, "Oh they are the dumbasses from AF that only like to talk about lesbians and fuck with gay and honda chat." Thats not the image we want to portray. I agree, it went overboard. Pretty offtopic. For the record, only 1.5 people were flamed. No one was in a gay room (that I was aware of). And, even f'ing off, our chat was more on-topic than at the Honda room :eek:

I got PM'ed by two people I think I helped yesterday, and some guy tried to sell me a car. I think I spent thirty minutes in PMs being useful. Pretty sad, we spent much more time than that having fun. It was a good time, but at the expense of the reputation of the room. That's not ours to mess up. It was pretty cool to Jake to invite us in the first place. We'll be more ontopic; I don't want Jake to get the impression we have to be baby sat.

I agree... after I got up from the puter last night I was still in the chatroom... this morning I went through to see what I MIGHT have missed.....uh... um... I didn't really miss too much....at least the last little bit was car chat.... I don't see any wrong in idle BS chitchat but yes the lesbian and honduh stuff was overkill... I Fully agree with jake about them just doin what we do but different cars... 3. Include more information, like why you haven't had the CEL run to see what the code is.
