what color would you want your maro

I'm in need of a paint job...I want to go back with white but if the paint isn't as bright a the gm artic white I would be very upset. The mustang dark gray would look nice or the black on black is always a good look but I really cant decide.

Do body shops use any where close to the dealer ship paint colors?

if i had a choice, id get mine in black

I guess it probably depends on the shop, but a reputable shop that does quality work should be able to use virtually the exact same color paint that the dealer used, as they will either mix the paint themselves or have a supply store mix it to match the color code for your vehicle. Only a hack would take paint off a shelf and spray it knowing you want it painted the original color.

I like my car original so I could keep mine red. One thing that sucks about changing the color, is alot of people dont bother to spray the door jams or under the hood, and then when you open stuff up you see the old color and it looks bad.

Plus if they dont take the old paint off, you get a stone chip and theres that old color of paint sticking through.

Dober89 makes a good point. Your looking at spending several thousand if you want to change the color and have it done right..

Thats why I want to keep it white if do go with another color it would be grey thats not to far off from white but I couldn't stand to look at 2 different colors when opening the door. I'm not gettin the best paint job it is the best job this place has to offer thought it is just under 400 dollars and its 4 coats of paint and a so called intergated coat of clear is this worth it anyone?

If you know how to paint, and take the time, changing the color isnt that big of a deal, you just need to spend the time in the door jams etc.

personally, i cant deny the sexyness of black on the camaros, my RS makes me happy in the pants. but with the IROC im gonna go with a mix of candy apple red, and the original copper/red metalic color.

Black looks good but if theirs alot of ripples in your body then it might not look as good, therefore I chose as close to the factory teal as possible and personally I think it looks a heck of alot better than the stock paint.
Go teal.....

The color black is calling me but you know that would be beat up on fast seeing how the sun shines here white paint just keeps cooler. Black is still possible. Black on Black I can just picture it with these wheels..http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=7979247268&category=43958

Integrated clear is shit...It's a onestage paint. Base/clear is the only way to go. If your car is already in decent shape prep it yourself and rent a booth from a local paint shop take your time and spray it yourself...

I like white, and i like the yellow one i posted and yellow is easy to maintain.

u won't be satisfied w/ a 400 dollar paint job, i promise u that

With that $400 paint job you will get what you pay for. Automotive paint is not cheap. They will spray on a layer or two of paint, but probably won't even scuff the surface so it will adhere. My brother had a Maaco paint job last year. He went from red to black. It's not hard to spot the underlying red, not to mention the door jams and engine bay. As a bonus, the paint is already starting to chip off in some places. - poor prep work -

Hey cool, have you done this? It really is a decent amount of work to do it right. It will be very difficult to paint the jams without removing the doors (possible though). You also need to remove the hood to spray the top lip of the fenders, and rear hatch under the outer part of it and around the edge, and thats to do a minimally good job.

I won't go with a cheap paint job unless you want to cover it quick before you sell it, otherwise you will probably be disappointed you did.

i'm in the process of tryin to figure out what to paint my car too. I think i have it...(takes long time to explain, so i won't). but since i have a lot of pics of other camaros, i thought i'd post a couple to help u get some ideas. I'm going to prep my own car with primer and everythin and then have Maaco (or this guy I know) spray it with paint and clear.

this is my car. i've sanded it to metal, and I'm about to bondo a couple of small spots, then primer.

IROC, i love candy red on third gens, the only reason I'm not going to do it, is cause I think you need chrome wheels to make it look REALLY good, and I don't really like chrome.

Had the same problem with my 86 Blazer / Maaco. $399 for a huge pile of shit... orange peel all over, too light in some areas, and started flaking off in about 2 years. Do yourself a favor and stay away from Maaco.

Instant Kevin, the red on third gens dont need to look good with chrome rims, just stay with the ones you got on now. Me, personally I want my next Camaro to be dark blue with flake on it, man that'd look sexy.

About the Camaro you wanted, the brownish on black stripes, I couldnt get it to look like that because I couldnt get the stripes to go completely black since there's like no light reflecting on it making it look really fake in the pic if I did that, that's why they're dark grayish stripes.

i would go with black b/c that brings out the true muscle car look so don't even be thinkin bout any other color!

Silver with the black stripes, or reversed. Or black with as many red or blue parts as you can, like calipers and such.

I woudnt do it yourself if your a beginner in paint....
Maaco is not crap if you take care of the paint, ive had mine for two years and it still looks brand new. Earl must have got a crappy paint job or not waxed it.
But I didnt spend $400, closer to $800.
Make sure you get paint with the clearcoat.
Id choose black.....
