1988 F-150 4sp 4x4 help

Hello all new to the forums here.
I have a few questions about a truck i am going to buy. It's a 1988 F-150 4 speed. It has the 4.9 L6. Now the person i might be buying it from said that someone had popped the hood and stole a electrical box that is mounted on the wheel well. Does anyone know what this might be so i can check around on what it might cost to replace this item? One other thing about it he said they just cut the wires. Do I have to replace this wire harness or can I splice it together when i get the part (if it's possible)?
The clutch is bad also. Any sugggestions on a clutch type? The truck will not be used on a daily basis but will be used for hunting, Fishing, And some hard water action(Ice fishin for those far south of MN :icon16:). But otherwise hauling stuff around the house when needed. and what not. My buddy suggested going one step above OEM.
