Hi. I have a 94 Blazer 4X4 With a 6 cyl vortech engine. I was at the drivethrough yesterday and it was idleing. I got my food and pulled away from the window. I stopped at the stop sign. I pressed the gas and it stalled. Now it wont start. It turns over but it doesnt even try to start. I dont know what is wrong. There was no warning it just died. I checked for spark it is good. I can here the fuel pump. I checked the valve on the fuel line behind the motor. Pushed it while turning the motor over and gas sprayes out. But if I spray some carb cleaner in the manifold it tries to start. Sputters alittle. I dont know what is wrong please help.

This may be extreme but when's the last time you checked your fuel filter ?

Sounds like either the fuel pump is crapping out from low pressure or the cpi is shot

It still isnt working I have great Fuel pressure into the top of the line by the engine. Where you can push the thing in and it sprayes out. Thats as far as I know. What is the CPI? Also there is no fueses from the battery..

That happened to my 94 Blazer just a week ago. It happened to be the Fuel Pump. Pulled into the driveway to get something from the house, came back out and the damn thing would not start...it just kept cranking but not catching.

Just because it sprays doesn't mean squat. You need to attach a fuel pressure gauge to that shrader valve...

Did You Check The Fuel Pressure?!

I went to buy a guage and the guy at NAPA said he can only get it in a set for 250 bucks. So I have to find a gauge somewhere.

I got the tester and put it on that valve thing screwed it on. I turn on the key and can hear the fuel pump come on but the needle doesnt move at all.

I Have A 1995 Blazer, And It Had The Same Problem We Tooke Off The Egr Valve Cleaned It Applied A New Gasket And The Put The Egr Valve Back On And It Started Right Up. Try That And It Only Cost $1.00 For Some Carberator Cleaner.

My Blazer Did The Same Thing. Clean The Egr Valve With Some Carb Cleaner And Apply A New Gasket And Put The Egr Valve Back On And It Should Start Right Up.

Sounds like bad fuel pressure. You need at least 60lbs on that system. Repace fuel pump.

I took the EGR out and soaked it in gas for a few hours. Replaced the gasket but still no go..I am going to change the fuel pump tommarow. And put a new filter on to. If that is not it then I dont know the whole fuel system will be new.

If the fuel pump deosn't fix the problem try checking the O2 sensor in the catalytic converter since they are together if with milage and age if the catalytic converter is clogging the O2 sensor with send faulty info and that may also be keeping the truck from starting, the back built up pressure keeping the motor from mixing properly. just another connected idea. good luck.

Okay she is FIXED and running. Although I did learn a 450 dollar lesson. After I got it fixed like 2 minutes later the starter pooped the bed. But the lesson was 320 dollars dor a fuel spider. And 100 dollars for a new starter due to trying to start it to much. So I spent 450. The only thing that was wrong was when I pulled the pump out of the tank it was like new. No pressure though so we took it out. There was a hole in the little rubber hose that is about 2 inches long that connects the pump to the hopusing thing. So all I needed to really spend was about 30 cents not 450 dollars. Lesson learned dont jump to concluisions..

FUEL SPIDER 320 BUCKS

FUEL FILTER 8 BUCKS

STARTER 100 BUCKS

LEARNING ALL YOU REALLY NEEDED WAS PATIENCE AND A 30 CENT HOSE......PRICELESS

There are some things money cant buy for everything else there is Autozone..

If you replaced that with a cheap piece of hose....you can expect more problems in the near future. A cheap hose can't hold up to the pressure.

I used fuel injection hose
