How difficult is it to install the rear struts on a 1991 accord? would it be worth it to send it to a shop or do it at home? boy is it hot down here in Texas

Kinda hard to say, don't know how good you are with a wrench. If you haven't done struts before, I'd have a shop do them. You'd have to take them to a shop to have the springs compressed to change cartridges anyway, even if you do the rest yourself.
I'll put it this way. I've worked on cars for over 20 years, and I'd still pay someone else to do struts if the price was good...

No problems, the hardest part will be to remove the lower through bolt... I had to cut it off on my car. A grinder is handy for that and an air wrench and spring compressor are needed. You'll also have to get an alignment when you're finished. It's a dirty job that even mechanics don't like. Definately set your car up on Jack Stands.
Pick up a chilton manual and go for it.
Good luck.
