Looking into buying a vette

There is a 2001 black z06 that a carmax has close by. Fayetteville. It has I think 30 or 40 thousand miles and is in great shape. Tires look pretty good. The paint job looks great, not imaculate, but still amazing for a 01. They want about 30,000 for it. I know that the 2001's had 385hp just before they went to 400. I have a 2002 ws6 T/A with 41,000 miles that is paid off. I got it appraised by them last year for about 20,000 so Iam looking at about 19 or 18500 now. So it would leave me with a 11 or so thousand pay off. My question is do you think that is a good price on the vette and how much more about would the the insurace be. Ive got a good driving record, but Iam 22 ;-) I checked KBB and other sources but I figured I would get some imput from the people who know best. By grandpa just bought a white 05 and traded in his 2002 convertable without letting me know and he told me I was crazy thinking about getting a zo6 corvette.

Thanks

IF YOU SHOP THE INTERNET. STAY FAR AWAY FROM "CORVETTE SPECIALITY" OF RIVERSIDE, CA. THEY ARE CROOKS(IN MY OPINION) .

AUDIBLE :iceslolan

You can probably get $22K for the WS.6.

You will LOVE a Z06. Straight line isn't much better than the WS.6, but man, those corners are fun in a Z06.

If his WS6 is stock, the Z06 should be quite faster. More horsepower, weighs less, considered more aerodynamic.
The way people think about american cars, they would be surprised how good a Vette corners. Compared to imprezas and built civic's(not ricers) I have forced my way into the passenger seat, I haven't been more afraid of death as I was in a stock C5 Vette. I mean, I grew up with my father and his friends owning muscle cars and them all hanging out. You hear the V8 roar in the vette, and you zone out thinking you are in another big GM from the 60's that is just for straight line purposes, and out of nowhere, the vette takes a corner, and your neck snaps in the opposite direction. I couldn't believe how good these vettes handle.
I have never been in a newer trans am, but I have been in a newer camaro owned by my mother's friend. One of those women who try to end stereotypes by trying to do things men think they should be good at. She would take corners fast and mess with 16 year old ricers, but it couldn't handle anyting like the vette.

I rambled on, enough. That is all.:P

i would get the 405hp ZO6....it shouldn't be that much more expensive if you wait until late august when sports car prices go down....
