91 vr4 for sale... help plz

At a parking lot near my house there is a white 91 vr4 for sale for 8800. new tires, new clutch, 116k. Please tell me if it is a good deal, if i should try to maybe get it for 8000 or something, and what kind of problems i may be expecting. The car is in beautiful condition, and i talked to the man selling it. I told him KBB was only like 5875 or somethin and he said he was selling it for more because it is rare..(which it is) HELP PLZ

I wouldnt pay more than 6 for it. Hell Im picking up a 92 stealth for 2k tomorrow that "has engine problems". After he agreed on 2k I asked what the engine problems were, and what he described sounded like a bad starter.

that is too much, it's a 91, hardly the rarest of the bunch. It's near the 120k tuneup, which will cost $400-1,500 depending on if you do it yourself or not. Screw him, he is overcharging.

thanx guys... im thinkin the same thing... plus its got like a red leather interior that doesnt do much for me... id rather have a 94 + for the six speed, 20 extra hp, better lookin headlights, and better rims. ill keep looking for one of those in my price range... (<12,000)

a stealth rt/tt for 2k? I highly doubt a TT would sell for 2k. If so, you are EXTREMELY lucky cuz it's worth much more than that. I would say 8,800 is a bit high, but definitely worth 6k+ IF the 120k has been done, if not, then 6k is the most I would go.

fyi you can make a 1st gen get that extra 20hp very easily, and free too :)

I don't know, but I just got insurance on my baby today and I'm paying $40 less per month than I was with my 1994 Civic. Odd eh? I get a better car and pay less money. I'm not complaining. :grinno:
