Check engine light

I have a very elusive problem with the check engine light representing a problem in the evaporative system (pressurized fuel tank/loose gas cap). I've had it in to two separate dealers for two full days of searching for the problem, only to get the engine light again yesterday. We've done a pressure test on the system, and a fluorescent dyed smoke to detect any leaks. The gas cap has been replaced. The engine light tends to illuminate when the fuel tank registers just under a half tank. Don't know whether this is coincidental, but it has occurred at that point on the gas gage more than a couple of times. Two dealers have had the car, and both repeat the same diagnostic steps to search for the problem, and the light returns within a few days. Anyone out there with a similar problem? Bob

I have an appointment with another Jag dealer next Tuesday. I do not know the specific error code, except that it's an evaporative system error. I'll find out the code number next week. I've been in touch with JaguarUSA for help on this one, because I don't except the dealer answer that the problem can't be specifically identified, therefore "can't" be repaired. For a car under warranty, this isn't a solution. If need be, the entire system should be replaced.
