Jack in the trunk...?

So i've had my Leganza for almost a year with no problems until yesterday. I hit a pothole and my rear right rim is bent, causing the tire to leak. When I went to take off the tire and put on my spare(which thank goodness was a full-size and not a doughnut) I found the the tire jack in the trunk is, well, impossible to get out...so...

Does anyone know how to get the jack out? There must be some button or something...?

You have to turn the jack screw until it gets smaller and releases from the rack its in. The jack is stored like that so it doesnt rattle around.
