Towing with 4 cylinder?

I have an '02 Voyager with the 4 cylinder and 3spd tranny and was wondering if I could use it to launch a boat. Total weight should be less than 1,000lbs (probably 500-800) and the incline on the launch is not much. It would be transported about 10-15 miles then launched. My gut tells me this is probably not a good idea, but I've never read anything that said either yes or no. Just wanted to check before I have to go out and buy another vehicle.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Don't think you would have a problem if the boat is less than 1000 lbs. I think the tow ratings of even the 4 cylinder was at least 1000 lbs. The current rating of the 4 cylinder with the 4 speed auto is 1000 lbs, the 3 speed auto is generally more stout so I don't see a problem . I tow 3400 lbs with our T&C .
Thanks.

Thanks for the info. I finally found some info on the dodge website. I'm sure the '02 4cyl (Chrysler) is still the same as the '06 4cyl (Dodge). It did state 1,000lbs when properly equipped. I'm assuming properly equipped means tow hitch and wiring harness. Is there such a thing as a DIY bolt on trailer hitch?
