On My 86 Caprice I Have A Loose Column.it's Been Like That For A While Now, But Recently Its Been Giving Me Troubles Starting. My Battery Remains Charged, But Everytime I Try To Start At Any Time, All I Get Is A Click. I Also Noticed That For A While It Would Start If I Work The Steering Wheel A Couple Times. Sorry If My Problem Is Not Very Clear, But Can Someone Please Help???

It sounds like your starter. It needs new brushes. It probably cranked over when you moved the wheel around because doing that happened to cause just the right amount of vibration to get it going. Thats just my guess. To confirm it have someone underneith the car and tap the starter with a hammer (somewhat hard) when you try to crank it over.

Thanx for your response, but my starter is brand new.Plus, instead of just moving the steering wheel, i have to snatch on the wheel a couple time before it cranks. Any other ideas? :banghead: :crying:
