V10 or 8.1

Currently my father is driving a chevy express 2500 van and he is looking to upgrade to a larger truck. He was looking at the Ford pickup with the V10 or the Chevy with the 8.1. I believe he is looking for a truck that is a couple years old. I have heard that the V10 pulls up hills better and has marginally better mileage (not really a big issue) Does anyone have any experience with either of these trucks? This is a tow vehical and he dosn't really want to use diesel. Which one is a more effective puller?

if your are goin to two things it is hard to beat the powerstroke. I know you said he does not whant a diesel but you can not beat them when it comes to pulling.

why doesnt he want a diesel. if he want milage and to have great pulling power he wants a diesel

for real, you want plenty of pulling power go with the diesel.......but go with the V10 if he isnt worried about gas mileage, plenty of torque to pull whatever he needs to
