i just bought a maisto ml55 and plan to stick either a 1997 dodge viper (bburago) engine in the mercedes or a 1962 ferrari gto (bburago) engine in it im leaning towards the viper but tell what u think
ml55 engine:5.4 liter v8 342 horsepower
gto engine:3.0 liter v12 300 horsepower
viper engine:8.0 liter v10 450 horsepower

i plan on putting viper seats, roll cage, and nos inside
rims? need some ideas but im thinking about just painting the stock rims black
the car is also going to be lowered
ideas welcomed

Don't paint stock wheels, you should buy new bling bling rims. :icon16:

Have the same car. I suggest getting a Playerz Mercedes and using the parts from there, use the rims, paint those black etc. While youre at it, put the Benz V8 in there, it's all shiny and tricked out for ya, jsut to save you some time.

but i want to make this a street legal race car so i need something more praticle for the rims not something to large and those rims would be way to big for the car cuz the m-class by maisto is actully approxmatley 1/20 scale and i want to use the viper or ferrari engine cuz those cars are pretty much in pieces neway

I say put some nice meaty tires on the rear with street tires on the front, and your definatly going to need a very aggressive exhaust system, that's for sure. Good luck, looking forward to a finished product. :D

elrx: u said that u used insulated electrical wiring for your roll cage, where do u get that from?

69charger: if u want to mod cars i reccomend getting maisto cars cuz their cheap the quality isnt too bad and if u screw up u can just buy another cuz they arnt to hard to find. all cars are different so if u want to do something to a car u need to have the parts and try to find your own way of doing it. most of the time mods arnt just bolt on parts for models. you have to cut bend and glue. for ex my ml55 i took the red engine cover off the viper and took the stock engine cover off and kindoff just glued it on. i had to cut a lot of the engine block so the thing would just fit under the hood. to lower the car: you notice on maisto cars that it has springs on all 4 corners. you can a, cut the spring. or you can get some aluminum tubing at your local hobby store and cut it so the car would be in a lower position. hope this helps with your future modding on model cars
