Precision Scm 50 Trim:please Read!

Well after a few weeks of completing this scm 50 trim project im done and with a few things to add.

#1 I HAD TO TRIM SOME OF THE FAN OFF TO CLEAR THE ELBOW,NO BIG DEAL.
#2 LIKE JAKE SAID, I NEEDED TO PUT MY MAFT IN THE UPPER IC PIPE.IT MADE IT RUN A LITTLE BETTER,SMOOTHER IDLE AND SO ON.
#3 I CALLED PRECISION AND THEY SAID THEY HAVE NEVER USED A 270 THRUST ITS ALLWAYS BEEN 360 FOR THOSE THAT WANT TO KNOW.
#4 COMPLETE BOLT UP WITH NO DENTING THE WATER PIPE IN MY APPLICATION.

sorry about the capps but heres my impressions of this turbo.

i was running a small 16g at 18 psi with 550"s for a while and the scm spools a little bit later but no big deal.at 12 psi it feels about the same as the 16g at 18 psi by the seat of my ass.i could run the scm at 16 psi with 550"s with no knock and felt pretty good to me.to tell you the truth this turbo did not feel all that strong up to 15 psi.heres when it gets fun,i installed my fic 650"s and turned it up to 20 psi and logged it on tmo.DAM!!!!!!!!! this turbo is a totaly different beast after 15 psi is all i can say.i logged a couple psi at a time befor i got to 20psi just to let you know.with the 20 psi log i have 4 counts of knock and 20 deg of timing with two log ajustments so its pretty colse but i need arp head bolts befor i turn it up any more to be safe.im not an english major but im doing the best i can for ALL OF US.

IM VERY HAPPY WITH THIS TURBO AND I WORKED MY ASS OFF FOR THIS SCM AND THE 650"S!

I'm dumb, so, can you log airflow with the TMO? A local did 42lbs/min on stock head gasket/head bolts and I'm wondering where you are at, since you worry about it. Otherwise thanks for the experience.

it reads in hertz from 0.0 to 1600.0 not lbs a min but, i really dont know to much about that i just use the knock and timing pretty much.

damn only 4 knock..hell, I say get some water/methanol injection goin and crank that beast up some more!

Also, how's that punishment racing o2 housing treating you? I'm getting some nasty spikes, and punishments o2 housing looked good and price is right....heard some people bitch about the o2 bung position.....any problems with it?

Your only at 1600hz? Something is wrong with that picture. On my 16g I was up near 2200hz @ 20psi and on my 3065 now I am around 3400hz @ 15psi. Better check into that. You should be mid 2k's. But other than that it looks nice. Get to the track and post up some times!!!

no jake,i meant that it only goes to 1600hz is the highest.i wish it would read higher to really see the airflow.

i have allways spiked no matter what 02 housing i have had till i went with with the bullseye housing. thats the turbine housing im using with the precision 50 trim center and compressor housing mated to it.

Yes, the 1g ECU will not report over 1600 hz to the diagnostic connector, regardless of how high airflow is. POS 1Gs :icon16:
